CRM Marketing Lists and its Working

In this Article, you’ll learn some of the common ways of working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM marketing lists:

  1. Creating a static marketing list
  2. Adding members to a static marketing list
  3. Creating a dynamic marketing list
  4. Adding members to a dynamic marketing list
  5. Adding a marketing list to a campaign

Creating a Static CRM Marketing Lists

  1. On the Navigation Bar, click to the down arrow that is in the right of the displayed module.
  2. Click Marketing, click on CRM Marketing Lists.
  3. Click to the New button in a command bar.

4. Enter an appropriate Name.

5. Choose the Targeted At. Note that this cannot be changed once you have saved the record and only members of the same type can be added.

6. Choose Static in Type. This cannot be changed once you have saved the record.

7. Click Save.

8. Click Manage Members in the Command Bar

9. Choose the option to include or remove the members of this list.

  • Lookup to add members one by one.
  • Advanced Find to add members based on specific criteria.

Adding Members to a Static Marketing List

  1. On the Navigation Bar, click to the Sales and go to a list of ContactsLeads or the Accounts. Note: you can only add the record type associated with the marketing list.
  2. Check the box for a record.
  3. Click on Add to Marketing List

4. Choose the appropriate list.

Creating a Dynamic Marketing List

  1. On the Navigation Bar, click to the down arrow present in the right of the displayed module.
  2. Click Marketing, click on Marketing Lists.
  3. Click to the New button in a command bar.

4. Enter an appropriate Name.

5. Choose the Targeted At. Note: this cannot be changed once you have saved the record is and only members of the same type can be added.

6. Choose Dynamic in Type. This cannot be changed once you have saved the record.

7. Click Save.

8. Click Manage Members in the Command Bar

10.Click on Find to test your query.

12. Click to the Use Query to save it OR click to the Back To Query to edit it.

13. Close the window. All records are meeting the criteria the way defined in a query will automatically be included to this list.

Copying a Dynamic List to a Static List

You can copy the dynamic list to the static list and leave your dynamic list untouched. This creates the new static list which contains all of the current records on the list. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the dynamic marketing list that you want to copy to the static list.
  2. Click to the Copy to Static in a command bar.

Adding a Marketing List to a Campaign

  1. On the Navigation Bar, click to the down arrow present in the right of the displayed module.
  2. Click Marketing, click on Marketing Lists.
  3. Select the list you want to include to the campaign.
  4. On the right side of the screen, Click to the Add Campaign record. 
  5. Choose the Look Up More Records and select a Campaign.
